Speechify policy evolution

“As a rule, Speechify employees do not monitor or view your User Content stored in or transferred through our Site, Software, and/or Services, but it may be viewed if we believe the Terms of Service have been violated and confirmation is required, if we need to do so to respond to your requests for support, if we otherwise determine that we have an obligation to review it as described in the Terms of Service, or to improve our algorithms as described in the User Content section of our Terms of Service.”

“Speechify offers an optional Google Drive integration that lets you import your own documents to be read aloud and used with in-app features such as text-to-speech and AI-assisted summarization. When you connect your Google account, we request Google Drive access solely so you can browse and import the files you choose, and you may revoke it anytime from your Google Account settings. Speechify’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data from Google Workspace APIs, including the Google Drive API (and any such data used with AI or machine learning features), is used only to provide user-facing features in Speechify. We do not use it to train generalized AI/ML models, sell it, use it for advertising, or transfer it except as needed to provide these features, for security, or to comply with law, and it is not read by humans except with your consent, for security purposes, or as required by law.”

“Speechify offers a free service and paid services. To make money, we encourage the users of our free service to upgrade to one of our paid services. We don’t help third parties to advertise their products to you. We also do not—and will not—sell your information.”
